Friend,
Memorial Day is more than just a date on the calendar that unofficially marks the beginning of summer. Today, we remember the men and women in uniform who gave their lives so that we can be free.
Throughout our nation’s history, our fellow countrymen have donned a United States uniform and bravely guarded the foundations of liberty in places within our borders and on foreign soil. They took with them the values and principles established in the Declaration of Independence, signed in ink, devotion and patriotism nearly 250 years ago.
We are truly a blessed nation – blessed by God and his providence, and blessed by the sacrifices of our brothers and sisters who entered military service as everyday Americans and are remembered as heroes on Memorial Day.
John 15:13 reminds us, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
Whatever your plans are this weekend – whether it’s around a grill, on a boat or simply spending time with family at home – I ask that you join me in pausing to honor our fallen heroes. They sacrificed everything for you and for me, and for this great nation. Let us remember their sacrifice, and the sacrifice of their families, this Memorial Day weekend and every day.
Onward to Victory,
Ron Estes
