It was not long ago that we had a booming economy, wages were rising, and unemployment rates for all Americans were at historic lows. Thanks to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, deregulation, and pro-growth policies from Republicans and President Trump, the American economy was the envy of the world.
More importantly, so many Americans were benefiting from a healthy economy that put more money in their pockets. And there were more job openings than workers looking for employment.
The pandemic upended the positive trajectory of a healthy economy.
But I believe we can rebuild the greatest economy in history with pro-growth tax policies and deregulation, fixing our roads and bridges, and having an “America-first” trade policy and supply chain.
In Congress, I helped ensure passage of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, which will provide more options for farmers and ranchers, as well as encourage more manufacturing here in Kansas. My Aviation Manufacturing Jobs Protection Act will help keep our skilled workforce here in south central Kansas. And just a few weeks ago I signed the Association of Equipment Manufacturer’s pledge “to support the 2.8 million men and women of the equipment manufacturing industry by advocating for bipartisan policies.”
The Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce and the National Federation of Independent Business have endorsed me, knowing that I will continue fighting for our small businesses and local workers.
This week, I’m launching a new ad to highlight some of the critical legislation I’ve been working on to move us through the pandemic and rebuild our economy.
