Ron’s Reads 8/14

Friend,

On Friday, Nancy Pelosi called members back to DC to vote on the Biden-Schumer-Manchin tax-and-spend bill that increases taxes and does nothing to actually reduce inflation.

Republicans offered amendments and held strong, but the Democrat majority pushed through their massive, disastrous legislation. You can read more about it below, along with other articles and perspectives from the past week. One article deals with the death of the brother of a Marine killed in Afghanistan. As a reminder, if you or someone you know is dealing with a crisis or needs help, you can call or text 988 – the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

Before you read this week’s articles, I hope you’ll consider making a contribution to my team today so that I can continue delivering this weekly news roundup to your inbox.
